Meeting Sep 12th

Purpose

The purpose of this meeting is to help the Oxford VLE team better understand how to integrate

  • the SAKAI instance hosted by the Computing Services
  • with the Fedora instance being developed within the Oxford libraries team
  • and the SRB instance being developed by the e-science research group.

It is thought that the software developed on the JISC ASK project will help this integration. Integration is a small word that can mean many things - we need to work out what it means in a practical sense.

The focus of this meeting is to work out a way for JISC and Mellon-funded research outputs to have real impact at Oxford by informing the JISC BID project.

This meeting will also bring together ideas that will be used in the JISC ASK Project final report.

Please also see the Repository-Scenarios.doc document compiled by Southampton University for the JISC as these can be used to shape the discussion as to what integration may mean.
